When a potential error is identified:

  2. Primary sources and documentation are consulted for verification
  3. If necessary, I re-test the product feature in question
  4. The impact and significance of the error are assessed
  5. A correction plan is developed based on the nature of the error

Types of Corrections and Their Implementation

Minor Corrections

For factual errors that don’t impact the overall assessment or rating (e.g., technical specifications, release dates):

  • Corrections are made directly in the article
  • A note is added at the bottom of the article indicating the change
  • No change to the publication date is made

Significant Corrections

For errors that affect key aspects of the review but don’t alter the overall rating or recommendation:

  • Corrections are made prominently within the article
  • A correction notice is added at the top of the article
  • The correction is documented in the “Updates and Corrections” log
  • The publication date remains unchanged, but a “Last Updated” date is added

Major Corrections

For substantial errors that affect the rating, recommendation, or core evaluation:

  • The review is comprehensively revised
  • A prominent correction notice is placed at the top of the article
  • The original rating and revised rating are both displayed with an explanation
  • The article is republished with a new date and flagged as a revised review
  • A notification is sent to subscribers who may have read the original review

Product Updates and Review Currency
